About the images
Colour prints are made on Epson Photo Stylus Pro large format inkjet printers (4000 and 7600) using Epson Ultrachrome inksets. Epson gives image lightfastness of prints made using these inks as typically in excess of 75 years, which is well in excess of the permanence of wet-produced colour photographic prints. I use a fully colour managed workflow to ensure consistency in reproduction. Prints made on resin-coated paper (typically Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl 280gsm) are issued as open editions and can be made in any size from A4 up to A1. These prints have a semi-gloss, eggshell type finish. Panoramic prints exceeding the long dimension of A1 (84cm) are available to special order. Prints made on cotton rag papers (typically Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308gsm) are issued as limited editions of 100 in each size from A4 up to A2. Panoramic prints exceeding the long dimension of A2 (59.4cm) are available to special order. Prints made using these papers are likely to have high archival permanence and are signed and titled in hand by me. These prints have a matte finish. Allowance should be made for a border (typically up to 5cm in width for an A3+ print). Prints are coated with Lyson PrintGuard. Prints on cotton rag papers larger than A2 (including panoramics exceeding the long dimension of A1) can be made on request. Black and white prints are made on either Hahnemuhle Photo Rag (308gsm) on an Epson Photo Stylus 2100 with bulk fed MIS Ultratone 7 carbon pigment inks or on Somerset Enhanced papers on an Epson Stylus Color 3000 with MIS Variable Mix carbon pigment inks. These prints have very high archival permanence, although a dye component in the inksets, which gives variable tone, may be subject to fading over a very long period of time resulting in slight colour shift towards warm/neutral. The warm tone prints are almost entirely carbon pigment and are rated as having permanence in excess of 100 years. The ultratone inkset gives cool through neutral to warm to sepia prints. My personal preference is for the warm tone prints, which are similar in appearance to traditional warm tone chlorobromide silver-gelatine papers. The Variable Mix inkset gives five tones varying through cool to neutral to warm. Again my preference is for warm tone prints. You may specify a tone, or you can leave this choice to me. Prints are matte with a border and signed and titled by me in limited editions of 100 in any one size.
